Winter parking ban outlined

CORNWALL — A parking ban was put in place last week by the Board of Selectmen, effective around the clock through March 30. The restriction for vehicles parked on or close to town roads is routinely issued for the winter months to allow the highway department to keep roads clear of snow. There has been only one plow event so far this season, but winter’s fury is bound to hit later, if not sooner. Drivers are warned that plowing activity may occur at any time, even in clear weather. Last year’s record snowfall dramatically illustrated the importance of pushing back snowbanks in between storms. Vehicles should be parked at least 6 feet in from the travel lane or paved shoulder. State statute allows the town to tow vehicles parked in violations of the ban

As you walk through the downstairs rooms, you’ll see dozens of examples from her needlework sampler collection. Some are simple and crude, others are sophisticated and complex. Some are framed, some lie loose on the dining table.

Many of them have museum cards, explaining where those samplers came from and why they are important.
