In response to Millerton resident John Walter’s letter to the editor in the May 14 issue of The Millerton News entitled, “The pains of over-restrictive zoning,” I say, “Well done, John.”
I will add my own comments to his opinion.
What would have been, under normal times, an extended weekend involving parties, barbecues and social functions, has unfortunately been put on hold this year. Memorial Day is a somber, serious time for us veterans and the military.
Sometimes it takes a tragedy to bring out the best in people.
I would like to extend an overdue THANK YOU to The Millerton News editors and staff for providing me a platform to voice the needs and concerns of our military and veterans — and to address our national security and the ever-growing rabid social discourse and hatred that have infected this country.
