The entries of Grassland Farms cattle at the Eastern States Exposition at Springfield last week came away with many first and second prizes.

 

The E.W. Spurr Co. received two carloads of coal this week which they have been distributing to their customers in half ton lots.

Charles Wise of Salisbury has a Rhode Island Red hen which recently laid an egg weighing four ounces. This is nearly as large as the best one recorded, and some idea of the size of the egg may be gained when it is stated that the average egg weighs about 2 1/2 ounces.

SALISBURY — Mrs. Ellen Pulver is suffering from an infected left arm.

 

LAKEVILLE — It has been practically decided to install a radiophone at the Men’s Club for the enjoyment of the members this winter. This will add another very attractive feature to the club.

SALISBURY — John H. Greer has purchased the house he has been occupying of Reed Johnson. It is a matter of satisfaction that lately several of our citizens have become able to own houses instead of renting, through the application of Mr. J. Cox Howell’s loan plan.

SALISBURY — George R. Belcher is off duty owing to a severe attack of indigestion.

Three tank cars of the local freight were derailed at Salisbury last Friday morning. It is said that a rail was found to have turned over.
