Sharon Health Care Center: Joy as patients ‘graduate’ and return home

SHARON — The governor’s office continues to post helpful updates daily online at www.portal.ct.gov/Coronavirus, with statistics that this week show a continued decrease in positive cases of COVID-19 in Litchfield County. Deaths continue at a rate of about three per day.

Parade provides a moving tribute in honor of a birthday

SHARON — Amid lots of toots, waves, short greetings and an occasional song, Barbara Bartram received birthday wishes during a drive-by wave parade in honor of her 91st birthday on Thursday, April 30.

Sharon Playhouse announces its plans for summer season

SHARON — It is a tribute to Sharon Playhouse that area residents have been extremely keen to know whether the theater will continue with its summer season as planned.

This week, those plans were announced by Managing Director Robert Levinstein and Artistic Director Alan M-L Wager.

Calm and quiet

The parking lot at Sharon Hospital is eerily empty, filled mainly with the state field hospital that was constructed there last week. Hospital President Dr. Mark Hirko said that there are fewer new cases of COVID-19 but precautions are still essential.
