SHARON — Enthusiastic about the prospects of the benefits offered by a solar energy project in the town, representatives of the Sharon Energy and Environment Commission (SEEC) reported their findings at the regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen on Tuesday, Oct. 27, held remotely by Zoom.

SHARON — Five newly planted deciduous trees will provide shade at the northern part of the Sharon Green while a new future town holiday tree, a white spruce, now stands at the southern point, thanks to the guidance and care of the Sharon Green Preservation Association (SGPA).
SHARON — Timed to coincide with the lighting of the town’s holiday tree on the Green this year will be the lighting of a projected total of 1,000 Lights of Love luminaria, to benefit the all-volunteer Sharon Ambulance. This year, the tree-lighting ceremony will take place on Saturday, Dec. 5.
On Monday morning, Oct. 19, Sharon Center School sent out an announcement saying that a middle school teacher had tested positive for COVID-19. As a result, the school was closed Tuesday, Oct. 20; and all students in grades five to eight will have to quarantine for two weeks and attend school remotely until Oct. 29.
SHARON — He was born and raised in a rural town, living there for all his life. From a student to a soldier, a coach to a principal, Ed Kirby is now an author and historian of his beloved hometown of Sharon, making him a prime candidate for the Sharon Historical Society’s “Voices of Sharon” forum.
