Sharon Housing Trust considers Community Center conversion

SHARON — A public discussion was convened at the Sharon Playhouse’s Bok Gallery on Sunday, Jan. 15 to discuss affordable, workforce housing, in particular the use of the Community Center building for housing.

Sharon Hospital upgrades helipad

SHARON — Sharon Hospital held a brief ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new helipad on Thursday, Jan. 12.

Hospital President Christina McCulloch cut the robbon Thursday morning as the green landing lights gleamed behind her.

Two who spurred Internet access for all in Sharon

SHARON — Years of strategic planning, focused research, community interaction and corporate negotiation brought about the town’s approval of a contract agreement between the town and Comcast for a $1.6 million partnership to expand internet service along 28.5 miles of road to every home and business along the way, about 250.

Lighting the Menorah

About 30 residents gathered at dusk on the Sharon Town Green to observe the beginning of the eight-day Jewish celebration of Hanukkah by lighting the first of the candles on the town’s traditional menorah on Sunday,  Dec. 18. One additional candle will be lit on each day.

Sharon Hospital: Marathon hearing airs labor and delivery plan

SHARON — The state Office of Health Strategies online public hearing on Sharon Hospital’s application to close its labor and delivery unit started on time at 10 a.m. and ended at 9:36 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 6.
