SHARON — By unanimous vote, residents approved a town expenditure to support the Hotchkiss Library of Sharon’s $3 million expansion project at a town meeting on Thursday, Jan. 27, held at Sharon Center School.
SHARON — Efficient access to technology for Town Hall offices and safe sidewalks in Sharon have been concerns for years, leading the Board of Selectmen to find a way forward on improvements at their regular meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 25.
SHARON—While remaining central and accessible within the towns they serve, the offices of Women’s Support Services (WSS) will be moving from Sharon to Lakeville in early March, gaining much-needed space for an increase in staff numbers and volume of service needs.

SHARON — After 16 years as Sharon Center School (SCS) principal, Karen Manning plans to retire from her duties at the close of the current school year.
SHARON — Farming has deep roots in this rural community’s history. An upcoming project at the Sharon Historical Society & Museum will highlight the complex situation facing residents and farmers as the latter strive to keep farming alive.
SHARON — When Le Gamin opened in March 2021 at the Sharon shopping plaza, bringing an acclaimed French restaurant to the town, additional shop space next door was included in the arrangement.

SHARON—It was a day for the birds.
SHARON — Long under consideration, a plan to expand the Town Hall parking lot took a step ahead last week. A preliminary plan was announced at the regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen on Tuesday, Jan. 11. The meeting was conducted in person at Town Hall and remotely on Zoom, drawing six observers.

SHARON — In the end, they were not able to overcome the might of the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) and its fleet of mighty rolling steel. The 66 pine trees that DEEP had determined were a safety hazard were cut down on Thursday, Jan.
SHARON — Sharon residents led the way in 2021 on protests to cuts in services proposed for Sharon Hospital. An area of particular concern for the “Save Sharon Hospital” group was the planned elimination of labor and delivery. A large group turned out Nov. 6 on the Sharon Green for a protest rally.
