Leite earns Rotary’s Estabrook Intern Award

SALISBURY — Sadie Leite has been awarded the 2021 Salisbury Rotary Club’s Robert Estabrook Intern Award. The award was made at a lunchtime ceremony at Noble Horizons during the regular August Rotary meeting.

Gia Kobara married Alexander Becket in June

LAKEVILLE — Gia Rose Kobara of San Diego, Calif., daughter of Mitchell and Susan Kobara, was married Saturday, June 5, to Alexander Morse Becket, son of Peter and Ann Becket of Lakeville.

The ceremony was held at Joshua Tree National Park, Pioneertown, Calif.

Solar power in Salisbury

Last week the Salisbury Historic District Commission approved the Salisbury Congregational Church’s application for a new roof with solar panels. The church’s goal as a “net-zero” building that produces as much energy as it consumes. This image is a rendering of the proposed roof.

Public input on strengthening lake and wetlands oversight reveals a deep divide in Salisbury

SALISBURY — The Salisbury Inland Wetlands and Watercourses Commission (IWWC) sought public input for the first time on its draft regulations rewrite on Tuesday, July 20, during a Zoom workshop that drew 75 attendees, about a dozen of whom spoke within the 15 minutes allowed to each person or group.
