Trial balloon scheduled for Friday, May 7

SALISBURY — First Selectman Curtis Rand said on Tuesday, May 4, that the test balloon related to an application for a 94-foot cell tower at 106 Sharon Road will go up on Friday, May 7. The rain date is Sunday, May 9.
The test had originally been scheduled for Monday, May 3, but was postponed because of weather.

UPDATE: April 30, 2021
SALISBURY - A test ballon flight scheduled for Monday, May 3, at the site of a proposed cell phone tower in Lakeville has been postponed.
First Selectman Curtis Rand received an email from AT&T attorney Kristen Motel late Friday afternoon, April 30, saying that the forecast for May 3 and May 4 calls for rain and the test has been postponed.
A new date will be announced early next week.

SALISBURY - AT&T will float a balloon at the site of the proposed cell tower at 106 Sharon Road in Lakeville on May 3 between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., In the event of rain or high wind the alternate date is Tuesday, May 4.
From AT&T's notification: "The visual test at this location will consist of an approximately four-foot diameter brightly colored balloon floating on a tether line to a maximum height of 94 feet above ground level. It should be noted that the site is private property and members of the public are not permitted to enter the site."
