Richard B. 'Dick' McCue

 LAKEVILLE — Richard B. “Dick” McCue, 82, died on May 27, 2008, with his loving family at his side.  

Mr. McCue was the beloved husband of Joan (Konopka) McCue and the late Jane (Freeman) McCue.

He was born on May 24, 1926, in Lakeville, son of the late Catherine (Brady) and Edward B. McCue.

He owned the Lakeville Taxi Company for many years and ran school bus and charter businesses. He also managed and then purchased a bus line that carried passengers between Poughkeepsie and Hartford.

Mr. McCue loved horses and was a superb rider and jumper. He liked to recall his trip as a youth to New York City to ride in equestrian events at Madison Square Garden.  

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Richard E. McCue and his wife, Laurie, Lisa McCue and her husband, Louis Emery and Edward “Ted” McCue;   a brother, Edward McCue and his wife, Louisa; six grandchildren; and five great- grandchildren.  

In addition to his first wife, he was predeceased by his sister, Catherine McCue Brakey, and his brother, Lawrence McCue.  

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church in Lakeville on Friday, May 30, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s  Cemetery. Memorial contributions in his name may be made to the Salisbury Ambulance Service or to Noble Horizons.
