Graduates are uncertain about the year ahead

The recent months have been tumultuous ones for this year’s graduating class at Housatonic Valley Regional High School. The coronavirus pandemic inaugurated a never-before-attempted experiment in distance learning, and has thrown plans for the fall semester into disarray.

In days past — not so very long ago — small town newspapers acted as backyard fences: Visitors were introduced, trips noted, luncheons reported and activity in general was tracked.

DOVER PLAINS — As they bid farewell to the Dover Union Free School District, seniors graduating from Dover High School were invited to leave their mark on the district by painting a mural on the high school driveway, an annual tradition.
