Roe Jan hosts miniature art show

COPAKE — The 2nd Annual Mini Art Exhibition returns this fall, featuring Roe Jan Library patrons.

How does it work? Drop by the Roeliff Jansen Community Library to pick up a mini canvas and easel. Create a mini masterpiece at home and return it to the library by Saturday, Oct. 8.

Form and function merge at hands of furniture maker

STANFORDVILLE — Tucked away in a remote and beautiful corner of Stanford, Erik Guzman, his wife Kari, their daughter Hanna and their two dogs enjoy the peace and quiet of country life, while Guzman performs miracles on wood, creating objects d’art.

Personal accounts of Holocaust shared, mourned

COPAKE — With  the news media reporting a recent rise in anti-Semitism around the world, a program about the Holocaust presented by the Roeliff Jansen Historical Society (RJHS) on Sunday, Aug. 28, hit close to home. Three presenters shared the personal accounts of their families during the Holocaust.

The Dutchess County Fair was held from Tuesday, Aug. 23, through Sunday, Aug. 28. As usual, droves of residents from the Hudson Valley and beyond made their way to the Route 9 fairgrounds in Rhinebeck to enjoy the sights, the sounds and the tastes. Photo submitted

The sights, sounds and tastes of Dutchess County celebrated at fair

RHINEBECK — The annual Dutchess County Fair was held from Tuesday, Aug. 23, through Sunday, Aug. 28, and it attracted many, many visitors, as it always does at the end of each August.
