New look for Lake Waramaug run

NEW PRESTON — The oldest winter race in Connecticut, the Polar Bear Run, happened for the 38th time on Sunday, Feb 26. As always, the 7.8 mile race circled Lake Waramaug, passing through the towns of Kent, Warren and Washington.

40 Fire Chiefs reunite

Fire chiefs, both past and present, from Connecticut, New York and Massachusetts, gathered at a dinner on Friday, Feb. 24 at the Canaan Country Club to catch up. Every person in this photo has been a volunteer Fire Chief of their own respective departments. Donnie Reid of Lakeville Hose Co. organized the event.

On Monday, Feb. 27, Nuvance held a state-mandated online forum on current conditions at Sharon Hospital that included a report from PYA, a consulting firm that reports to the OHS on compliance with the hospital’s Certificate of Need agreement.

Housatonic FFA honors Jacquier

The Housatonic Valley FFA dedicated its new Farm to Table room to James “Cricket” Jacquier in recognition of his leadership and commitment in seeing the project through.

HARTFORD — Nuvance Health’s proposal to replace the intensive care unit at Sharon Hospital with a progressive care unit was heard by the Office of Health Strategy (OHS) on Feb. 15.
