HYDE PARK — Dutchess County Executive Bill O’Neil delivered the 2023 State of the County address on Wednesday, March 8, at the Culinary Institute of America.
“Dutchess County is exceptional,” O’Neil said more than once in what will be his only State of the County address, as he is retiring at the end of the year.

As many readers of this column know, I have been working in the woods, fields and marshes on my property for about a dozen years, eliminating invasive plants and encouraging native species to grow. ANCRAM — Since 2016, Ancram Opera House (AOH) co-directors Paul Ricciardi and Jeff Mousseau have brought contemporary, innovative theater performances to a rural audience. With the expansion of the Summer Play Lab program as well as the AOH campus itself, Ricciardi and Mousseau see a bright future ahead for the organization.
