Pink's NFL Picks 11-16-07

Last week’s record, 4-10; for the season, 78-51

Pick of the Week, 0-1; for the season, 7-3

All right, already, I got punished this past week like none other. This makes two weeks in a row that I missed my Pick of the Week, too. Some of the games I missed were close, however.

The Colts missed a field goal in the end that beat me, the Eagles scored 20 unanswered points in the second half to win, and what were the odds of the Bengals, Falcons and Rams all winning?

Well, there’s always next week. Though my confidence is a bit shaken, I’m going to do my best to get back on track.

Sunday, Nov. 18

N.Y. Giants at Detroit

— Costly penalties really hurt the Giants in their loss to the Cowboys and the defense was nothing to write home about. I do, however, look for them to rebound this week, even on the road. I’ll stick with the G-Men in this, 27-21.

Oakland at Minnesota

— Oakland just can’t score and the Vikings were very disappointing in their loss to the Packers. The game is basically meaningless, but I think the Vikings will rebound at home and win this one, 20-14.

Tampa Bay at Atlanta

— The Bucs are not the best road team by any means, but this is an important game for them. I’m overjoyed that the Falcons have won three games, but I don’t think they’ll win another this week. I like the Bucs, 17-10.

Carolina at Green Bay

— The way I see it, the only way I’ll be convinced that the Packers are for real is to make them my Pick of the Week. Carolina is all banged up and the Pack should have no trouble winning this one, 34-13.

New Orleans at Houston

— The Saints let a lot of people down last week, while Houston had a week off. As much as I would like to see the Saints win, I’m sticking with Houston in this one, 24-21.

Cleveland at Baltimore

— I like the Browns and I hate the Ravens. Need I say more? Cleveland, 17-13.

Kansas City at Indianapolis

— I lost with both of these teams last week, but I don’t see the Colts losing three games in a row. I’ll stick with Indianapolis, 31-20.

Arizona at Cincinnati

— I was really pulling for the Cards last week and they stung me, while the Bengals bagged me as well by defeating the Ravens. The Cards seem to struggle on the road, so I’m going to take a shot with the Bengals, 27-24.

Miami at Philadelphia

— Is it possible for the Dolphins to lose every game this year? You should never say never, but things don’t look too good this week against the Eagles. I’ll stick with Philadelphia in this one, 21-7.

San Diego at Jacksonville

— I’m not convinced the Chargers have turned the corner, even after taking over first place in their division this past week. I’m going with the Jags in this one, 21-20.

Pittsburgh at New York Jets

— This would be as good a time as any for the Jets to win a game, but I don’t think New York is quite ready for the Steelers. I’ll stick with Pittsburgh, 24-14.

Chicago at Seattle

— This is a do or die game for the Bears if they wish to stay in contention for a wild card berth. The same goes for the Seahawks, who can stay in first place with a win. I’m going with the home team in this one, Seattle, 21-16.

Washington at Dallas

— The Cowboys are good — not great, mind you — but they are good. The Redskins continue to be a tough read and I feel they are starting to slide. I’ll take Dallas at home in this one, 21-13.

St. Louis at San Francisco

— There has to be something better to do than watch this game. Turkey shopping? These two teams are really struggling, but I’m going with a hunch here. I think the Rams are going on a winning streak of two in a row with a 27-24 victory over the 49ers.

New England at Buffalo

— There is definitely a chance for an upset in this game. The Bills are playing tough. Unfortunately, the Patriots are coming off a bye week and are well rested. New England will dominate the second half and win, 31-20.

Monday, Nov. 19

Tennessee at Denver

— I’m still pulling for the Titans and I’m not very big on the Broncos. Denver can always be tough at home, but if Tennessee is going to stay in the wild card race, they need this one. I’ll go with the Titans, 17-16.

Magic Fluke Ukulele Shop and True Wheels Bicycle Shop are not only under the same roof in a beautiful solar powered building on Route 7 in Sheffield, but they are also both run by the Webb family, telling a tale of familial passion, innovation and a steadfast commitment to sustainability.

In the late ‘90s, Dale Webb was working in engineering and product design at a corporate job. “I took up instrument manufacturing as a fun challenge,” said Dale. After an exhibit at The National Association of Music Merchants in Anaheim, California, in 1999, The Magic Fluke company was born. “We were casting finger boards and gluing these things together in our basement in New Hartford and it just took off,” Dale explained. “It was really a wild ride, it kind of had a life of its own.”
