Ruth Turner Tyrol

SALISBURY — Ruth Turner Tyrol, 98, of Salisbury, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Jan. 11, 2023, at Mount Carmel Nursing Center in Manchester, New Hampshire.

She was born on Aug. 31, 1924, in Glastonbury, Connecticut, daughter of the late Leon and Louisa Killam Turner.

Babette H. Barrett

NORFOLK — Babette H. Barrett, 98, passed away Jan. 8, 2023, in Salisbury. She was the loving wife of her high school sweetheart, the late Robert E. Barrett.

Babs was born in 1925 in Winsted, the daughter of Helen and Arthur Herman. She graduated from the Gilbert School, and with Bob raised a family of four boys.

Helen Gaylord Townsend

FALLS VILLAGE — Helen was born in 1931 in Rockford, Illinois, the youngest of the four children of Mildred Ingersoll Gaylord and Robert Gaylord. Her father ran the family company Ingersoll Milling Machine, one of the largest machine tool companies in the world.

Julia C. Segalla

CANAAN — Julia C. Segalla passed away peacefully on Thursday, Jan. 12, 2023. She was born on Jan. 22, 1926, the daughter of Marcello and Aurora Del Tenno. Julia and her sister, Antoinette, were raised in Canaan, where Julia remained as a lifetime resident.

Ida Mary McEathron

MILLERTON — Ida Mary McEathron, 80, a lifelong area resident, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2023, at Sharon Hospital in Sharon.

Mrs. McEathron worked as a therapy aide at the Wassaic Development Center in Wassaic,  a career that spanned over 30 years prior to her retirement in 1993.

Gary M. Lovett

CLINTON CORNERS, N.Y. — Gary M. Lovett, 69, of Clinton Corners, died unexpectedly on Dec. 17, 2022, while cross-country skiing in the Catskills with friends. The cause of death is unknown.
