CORNWALL — Janet Louise (Morrison) Gold, 91, passed away quietly in her sleep on May 4, 2020, a victim of the COVID-19 virus. 

A devoted grandmother, mother and wife, Janet will be sorely missed. 

CLAVERACK, N.Y. — Chester “Chet” Marcy, 84, of Claverack, N.Y., passed away on May 11, 2020, due to complications from congestive heart failure.

ANCRAMDALE — Walter Everett Barton, 67, passed away on May 8, 2020. Husband, father, brother, friend and beloved grandfather, he passed away peacefully at Vassar Brothers Hospital in Poughkeepsie as a result of complications from the coronavirus.

CORNWALL BRIDGE — Ralph “Dusty” Sandmeyer Jr., 73,  of Cornwall Bridge passed away at home surrounded by his family on May 13, 2020, after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease.  

Born Oct. 23, 1946, Dusty grew up in Cornwall, where he lived most of his life. 

As a boy, he attended Rumsey Hall School and later Kent School. 

SALISBURY — Donald J. Reid Sr., 89, of East Main Street died May 11, 2020, at Vassar Brothers Hospital in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. He was the husband of Leona E. Reid. Mr. and Mrs. Reid were married for 65 years. 

GALLATIN — Frederick “Fred” Joseph Simoncini Jr., a devoted husband, loving father, hard-working Hudson Valley carpenter, and legend, died peacefully with his family beside him at his home in Gallatin, N.Y., on May 1, 2020.

SALISBURY — Agnes M. Nowicki passed away peacefully on May 2, 2020, at Noble Horizons at the age of 102.  

HILLSDALE — Celia “Peg” McGhee, 90, of Hillsdale passed away May 7, 2020, at home surrounded by her loving daughters.

She was born on Nov. 12, 1929, in Hudson, N.Y., to Celia (VanderBiesen) and Ira Stalker.
