Dorothy ‘Dot’ Bates

MILLERTON — Dorothy “Dot” Bates, 92, a long-time area resident, died peacefully in the comfort of her home on Friday, Feb. 5, 2021.  

Born in New Milford, Conn., in 1928, she was the daughter of the late Sophie (Wegloski) and Wesley Traver. Her father referred to her as his “favorite son” as they enjoyed many adventures together. 

Joshua Wilkinson

SHARON — Joshua Wilkinson, 41, of Sharon Valley Road died Feb. 9, 2021, at Sharon Hospital. He was the husband of Tanya Wallace Wilkinson.

Joshua was born in Torrington on July 5, 1979, the son of Richard Kearns Jr. and Linda Palmer. 

Katy Marie Sherwood

NORTH CANAAN — Katy Marie Sherwood was born on May 4, 1984, in Pittsfield, Mass. After fighting a courageous battle with lung cancer, she passed away at home peacefully on Jan. 31, 2021, surrounded by her loved ones. 

Victor G. Reiling Jr.

KENT — Victor G. Reiling Jr., 80, of Sarasota, Fla., passed away peacefully on Feb. 1, 2021. He is survived by his wife, Nancy S. Bushnell.

Formerly of Cornwall, Salisbury and Kent, he and Nancy  moved to Sarasota in 2008. 

He was born March 20, 1940, in Dayton, Ohio, son of the late Lillian S. and Victor G. Reiling. 

Bronislaw Michael Bibro

LIME ROCK — Bronislaw Michael Bibro, 96, of Lime Rock in Salisbury passed away on Feb. 5, 2021, after suffering a stroke. 

Bronislaw “Bronik/Broni” Bibro was born on Feb. 8, 1924, in Michałowice, Poland, to Jan and Rosalia Bibro.  

Mary S. Fitzgerald

WASSAIC — Mary S. Fitzgerald, 60, of Bradenton, Fla., formerly of Wassaic, lost her battle with cancer and passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Jan. 27, 2021. 

She was born on Feb. 27, 1960, in Sharon, to Edna Mae (Kruger) and Richard Miller. She graduated from Webutuck Central School in Amenia. 

Bonnie Aakjar

SHARON — Bonnie Aakjar 72, passed away peacefully at her home with her family at her side, after a hard-fought year-long battle with lung cancer.

Bonnie was born Sept. 30, 1948, in Sharon to the late Dorothy Mae Bejean Booth and the late Dellavergne Booth. She graduated from Housatonic Valley Regional High School, Class of 1966.
