Christine Wells

NORTH CANAAN — Christine Elizabeth Wells, 32, of 57 High St. died June 11, 2020, at Hartford Hospital.  

She was born July 27, 1987, in Sharon, the daughter of Alfred M. Wells of North Canaan and Diane Shippa-Paden of Sheffield, Mass.

Joan Carolyn Kauttu

NORTH CANAAN — Joan Carolyn Kauttu, PhD, daughter of Carl and Edna Kauttu, was raised in North Canaan, where her father owned a local pharmacy. She died at her family home on Bragg Street at 80 years of age. 

Helen (Sczawinski) Hintz

SALISBURY — Helen (Sczawinski) Hintz passed peacefully at Noble Horizons on June 9, 2020, just days after celebrating her 89th birthday. Her last hours were an outpouring of love and support from the many friends and caregivers she had made at Noble, her home for the last seven years. 

Marilyn Sher

SALISBURY — Marilyn Sher, 83 years old, of Coconut Grove, Fla., and for more than 30 years a resident of Salisbury, passed away quietly at home on June 3, 2020, with her beloved husband, Gary, her son, Mark, her daughter, Frazer, and her grandson Griffin Sher at her side.

Dennis J. Togninalli

SHARON — Dennis J. Togninalli, 66, of Sharon Valley Road, died Friday, June 5, 2020, at Hartford Hospital.  Dennis was the husband of Kim (Breithaupt) Togninalli.

He was born in Great Barrington, Mass., son of the late Stella (Inferrera) and Guido Togninalli. 

John Gail Borden

John Borden, 69, passed away on Tuesday May 26, 2020.

Born on April 4, 1951, he was the son of the late Albert and Virginia (Richmond) Borden. He was the great, great grandson of Gail Borden, founder of The Borden Milk Co., and named for his uncle who skated at the Lake Placid Olympics.

Timothy A. Williams Jr.

KENT — Timothy A. Williams Jr., 42, of New Preston, Conn., was taken from his family far too soon, and didn’t get the chance to say a proper goodbye on May 23, 2020, but the time they shared together will last forever. 

Timothy was born Nov. 9, 1977, in New Haven, Conn., the son of Joan (Glass) and Timothy A. Williams Sr.

Raymond Ivan Butler

WASSAIC — Raymond Ivan Butler, 64, a lifelong area resident, died unexpectedly on Sunday, May 31, 2020. 

Ray worked as a custodian at Millbrook Central School District for the past 23 years; prior to that he worked for the Taconic DDSO in Wassaic  for 15 years.
