Harriet Leila Wood

SALISBURY — Harriet Leila Wood, 75, of Salisbury, passed away suddenly on April 9, 2021.  

Leila was born Aug. 15, 1945, and was the child of Harriet Nash and Wilfred Nash of Quincy, Mass. 

David Herring

MILLERTON —David Herring, 68, of Millerton passed away on April 24, 2021, at Putnam County Hospital in Pawling, N.Y., after a long illness.

Born in Tuckahoe, N.Y., he was the youngest son of Vinnie (Walker) and Wendell Herring. 

Timothy D. Riley

SHARON — Timothy D. Riley, 64, of Sharon passed away April 27, 2021, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. 

Tim was born Dec. 14, 1956, in Sharon, the son of the late Laurence C. Riley Sr. and Helen Murphy. 

He worked as a commercial dispatcher for Amenia Sand and Gravel as well as Colchester Sand and Gravel.

John J. Jerome

SALISBURY — John J. Jerome, a fifth-generation New Yorker, was a long-serving partner of the international law firm Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy, where he founded its financial restructuring practice.

Kim Carberry

SHARON — Kim Carberry, 59, of Sharon Valley, died April 7, 2021, at Vassar Hospital after a brief illness, with family by her side. 

Kim was born on April 10, 1961, to Herbert Webb Lee and the late Elizabeth Ann (Stapleton) Lee. 

Arietta M. Carroll

AMENIA — Arietta M. Carroll, 100, a six-year resident of Port Orange, Fla., and formerly a longtime resident of Amenia, passed away on April 22, 2021, at Halifax Medical Center in Port Orange. Mrs. Carroll was a therapy aide at the Wassaic Developmental Center, retiring in 1981. 

Florence B. Carroll

AMENIA — Florence B. Carroll, 113, a longtime resident of Amenia, and recently of Salisbury, passed away on April 15, 2021, at Noble Horizons. Mrs. Carroll was the oldest living resident in the State of Connecticut. 

Born on June 9, 1907, in Millerton, she was the daughter of the late Mary (McCann) and Emilio Brunese. 

Carole (Kempf) McGuire

FALLS VILLAGE — Carole (Kempf) McGuire, 76, died on April 19, 2021, from complications with cancer. Carole was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, James “Mac” McGuire. She is survived by their two children, Andrew McGuire and Kate Bowen; and four grandchildren, Matilda McGuire, John McGuire, Wesley Bowen and Malcolm Bowen.
