NORTH CANAAN — Several months of meetings of the local six-member affordable housing steering committee have resulted in distribution of a town-wide survey of residents, analysis of the results, and the drafting of an affordable housing plan with six specified goals.

Goals being suggested include:

NORTH CANAAN — Reacting to an email from state officials proposing to reduce the number of parking spaces on either side of crosswalks, the Board of Selectmen decided to request a meeting to review those plans that would affect the town center along Routes 7 and 44.

NORTH CANAAN — Railroad Days 2022 in North Canaan generated big community spirit starting on Wednesday, July 13 and ending with a penultimate bang on Saturday night as fireworks lit up the sky. On  Sunday,  it was time for a road race and lobster tails from a food truck.

North Canaan Resident Trooper Spencer Bronson took the plunge over and over on Saturday, June 25, at the Family Fun Week event at Lawrence Field in North Canaan as young hurlers hit the target.

NORTH CANAAN — The skies threatened with dark clouds in the minutes before the North Canaan Elementary School eighth graders began their procession to a graduation ceremony on Wednesday, June 15.

NORTH CANAAN — The former Masonic Hall property is under consideration as a Housatonic River access point by the Board of Selectmen.

The property is owned by the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP), which suggested leasing the property to the town for recreational development.
