Black Goose Grill offers music, new items

SHARON — When announcing changes at the Black Goose Grill in the Sharon Shopping Plaza, owner Robert Caeners said, “Change is always good.” Those changes include new menu items created by Executive Chef Kevin Cotton. The grill will also now feature live music twice a month. “We tried live music in December, and it was so well-received we decided to make it a regular thing,” Caeners said. The new menu items were also tested out over the winter and deemed delicious and worthy of making it onto the menu.“Kevin introduced a small sampling of his new items, and he’s been expanding and creating ever since, and the feedback has been very good.”Cotton joined Black Goose in December, after his most recent gig as the executive chef and restaurant manager at Bank Street Tavern in New Milford. In the late ‘90s, Dale Webb was working in engineering and product design at a corporate job. “I took up instrument manufacturing as a fun challenge,” said Dale. After an exhibit at The National Association of Music Merchants in Anaheim, California, in 1999, The Magic Fluke company was born. “We were casting finger boards and gluing these things together in our basement in New Hartford and it just took off,” Dale explained. “It was really a wild ride, it kind of had a life of its own.”
