Sixth-grader receives Superintendent’s Award for 2011
BARKHAMSTED — Molly Lukiwsky, a sixth-grade student at Barkhamsted School and daughter of Kimberly and Nicholas Lukiwsky, has won the school’s Superintendent’s Award for the 2010-11 school year. Lukiwsky received the award at the 27th Annual Litchfield County Superintendents Student Recognition Program, held recently at the Cornucopia Banquet Hall in Torrington. Twenty-two districts representing 275 people attended the event. Lukiwsky was recognized for her scholarship and overall contributions to Barkhamsted School.Lukiwsky plays saxophone in the school band, is president of the Student Council and is a peer mediator. She is a member of the Book Club and an avid reader. Out of school, she plays soccer and loves to snowboard.On one occasion, Lukiwsky met Lt. Gov. Nancy Wyman and invited her to visit Barkhamsted School and speak about a topic that was being covered in Lukiwsky’s Social Studies class. Wyman accepted the invitation.
