Robert Blair Wallingford
SALISBURY — Robert Blair Wallingford, 82, died at Noble Horizons on Nov. 17, 2011. Bob lived at the Beckley House in North Canaan before moving to Noble. He was born March 26, 1929, in Ashland, Kan. After earning his bachelor’s degree from Pennsylvania University and serving in the Army, Bob went to New York to work at Young & Rubicam as an account executive for Travelers Insurance and General Electric. He later became director of merchandising at Mutual Benefit Life. Bob moved west to San Francisco to become vice president of Charles Schwab Insurance Services, where he developed what is now known as SelectQuote. He spent his retirement in Vermont and Connecticut promoting affordable healthcare.Bob is survived by his children, Robert Blair Wallingford Jr. of Rockland, Calif., Kim Homes of Alamo, Calif., Lloyd Wallingford of Lakeville and Marlee Wallingford of Walnut Creek, Calif.; and his grandchildren, Blair, Jessica, Jenna, Jayne and Daniel.No services are planned.
