Anna Beebe Rosseter

NORTH CANAAN— Anna Beebe Rosseter, 99, passed away Nov. 9, 2011, at Geer Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Anna was born in Winsted on Dec. 27, 1911, to Agnes S. and Herbert S. Beebe. When Anna was a small child, the family moved to Lakeville. She graduated from Lakeville High School. Anna was a telephone operator for more than 30 years, working for the New England Telephone and Taconic Telephone companies. In her later years, she enjoyed spinning at the Salisbury Antiques Festival. She was married to Kenneth Rosseter for 67 years. After his death in 2003, she lived at Geer.She is survived by one sister, Clarinda Ulin, formerly of Lakeville, now living in Vernon, Conn.; three daughters, Anne Moses of Norfolk and Port Orange, Fla., Virginia Fiddelke of Sandisfield, Mass., and Julia Shell of Chiefland, Fla.; her grandchildren, Charles Luke and his wife, Suzanne, of Harwinton, Conn., Thomas Kelley and his wife, Tracy, of Scottsburg, Ind., Melinda Fitting and her husband, Mike, of Sheffield, Mass., Rebecca Snyder and her husband, Mike, of Coreenwood, Fla., Candice of Great Barrington, Michael Golden of North Canaan, Steven Brown and his wife, Emily, of Chiefland and Nathaniel Brown and his wife, Traci, of Chesapeake, Va.; 19 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.She was predeceased by two brothers, Richard and Newton Beebe; and one sister, Mary A. Beebe Levesque.Funeral services were held Nov. 12 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lakeville. Burial was Nov. 14 in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Salisbury. Memorial contributions may be made to Geer Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 99 South Canaan Road, North Canaan, CT 06018.The Kenny Funeral Home in Sharon has charge of arrangements.

Magic Fluke Ukulele Shop and True Wheels Bicycle Shop are not only under the same roof in a beautiful solar powered building on Route 7 in Sheffield, but they are also both run by the Webb family, telling a tale of familial passion, innovation and a steadfast commitment to sustainability.

In the late ‘90s, Dale Webb was working in engineering and product design at a corporate job. “I took up instrument manufacturing as a fun challenge,” said Dale. After an exhibit at The National Association of Music Merchants in Anaheim, California, in 1999, The Magic Fluke company was born. “We were casting finger boards and gluing these things together in our basement in New Hartford and it just took off,” Dale explained. “It was really a wild ride, it kind of had a life of its own.”

Blues legend Robert Cray will be bringing his stinging, funky guitar and soulful singing to Infinity Hall Norfolk on Friday, March 29.

A five-time Grammy winner, Cray has been inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame and earned The Americana Music Awards Lifetime Achievement for Performance. He has played with blues and rock icons including Albert Collins, Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, The Rolling Stones, Tina Turner, Eric Clapton and many more.
