Tough week for girls soccer
FALLS VILLAGE — The Housatonic Valley Regional High School girls soccer team hosted Litchfield Tuesday, Sept. 27. The game was scoreless until Litchfield put in a goal five minutes before halftime. Litchfield then scored two more goals in the second half to win 3-0.On Wednesday, Sept. 28, the team traveled to Lewis Mills for a makeup game. The home team jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead, but Housy’s Katie Heacox tied the score with a shot from 10 or 15 yards outside the penalty area. In the second half, Mills showed why they are one of the best teams in the league as they scored three goals to win the game 4-1.On Friday, Sept. 30, the team traveled to Northwestern for a night game, but the game was called at the half because of lightning, thunder and a lot of rain.The JV team also played Litchfield, Mills and Northwestern. The team did play well but were unable to come home with any wins.
