Olga A. (Perotti) Broggi
NORTH CANAAN — Olga A. (Perotti) Broggi, 94, of South Canaan Road, formerly of Sheffield, died Sept. 8, 2011, at the Geer Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was the widow of Ricco Broggi, who died in 1965. Olga was born in North Canaan on Oct. 30, 1916, the daughter of the late Domenica (Gigli) and Joseph Perotti. Olga had eight brothers and sisters, and she was the last surviving member of her family. She was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church in North Canaan and a member of the Daughters of Isabella. She worked for more than 30 years as a waitress and bartender at the former Pine Tree Restaurant in Sheffield. Olga lived most of her life in Sheffield, before moving to North Canaan in 1983.She is survived by her nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Frank, Serene, Edward and Elio Perotti; and her sisters, Catherine Ferrency, Anna Maria Campi, Marguerite Cecchinato and Claudia Smith.A Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, Sept. 17, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Newkirk-Palmer Funeral Home in North Canaan on Sept. 17.
