Esther M. Clark

SHARON — Esther M. Clark, 89, of Amenia Road died Aug. 31, 2011, at Sharon Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Mary (Hazard) and Albert E. Clark.Esther was born in Sharon on Nov. 27, 1921. She was a graduate of the Sharon high school in 1939 and attended the Krissler Business School in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. She worked for Attorney Sully Burman in Sharon and then worked at the Sharon Colonial Bank. For many years she was a probate court judge for the town of Sharon. She loved to bowl in her free time.Esther is survived by her sister, Martha White; her niece, Cheryl L. Bashor and her husband, Gary; her nephew, Edward G. White; her four grandnieces and grandnephews, Rebecca, Kevin, Lauren and Jeffrey; and her four great–grandnieces and great–grandnephews. A memorial service will be celebrated at the Kenny Funeral Homes on Sept. 10 at 11 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sharon Volunteer Ambulance and Fire Department, PO Box 357, Sharon, CT 06069.

Magic Fluke Ukulele Shop and True Wheels Bicycle Shop are not only under the same roof in a beautiful solar powered building on Route 7 in Sheffield, but they are also both run by the Webb family, telling a tale of familial passion, innovation and a steadfast commitment to sustainability.

In the late ‘90s, Dale Webb was working in engineering and product design at a corporate job. “I took up instrument manufacturing as a fun challenge,” said Dale. After an exhibit at The National Association of Music Merchants in Anaheim, California, in 1999, The Magic Fluke company was born. “We were casting finger boards and gluing these things together in our basement in New Hartford and it just took off,” Dale explained. “It was really a wild ride, it kind of had a life of its own.”

A five-time Grammy winner, Cray has been inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame and earned The Americana Music Awards Lifetime Achievement for Performance. He has played with blues and rock icons including Albert Collins, Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, The Rolling Stones, Tina Turner, Eric Clapton and many more.
