Connecticut State Police Troop B Police Blotter
The following information was provided by the Connecticut State Police at Troop B. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Car hits truck
Sebastian Collett, 37, of Ashville, N.C., was driving west on Route 44 in Salisbury Aug. 15. At about 1:33 p.m., he lost control on a curve near Wildcat Hollow Road. The 2000 Volkswagen Golf veered off the right shoulder. It re-entered and crossed the road. It hit a 2006 Freightliner tractor-trailer driven east by William Wilcox, 41, of Salisbury. There were no injuries. The truck had minor damage to a rear wheel. The Golf had heavy front-end damage. No enforcement was noted.
Alex Simko, 39, of Falls Village was arrested Aug. 18 following an 8:31 p.m. report of a disturbance at a home on Route 7 South in Falls Village. The complainant was Flora Nelson of the same address. He was charged with disorderly conduct and interfering with a police officer. Bond was set at $3,000. He was to appear in Bantam Superior Court Aug. 19.
A 9-year-old was arrested on a warrant Aug. 18 after an investigation into an incident on East Street in Sharon. The victim was a 4-year-old. The 9-year-old was charged with risk of injury to a minor and fourth-degree sexual assault. A Torrington Juvenile Court date of Aug. 15 was set.
Car into swamp
Michael Tanner, 41, of Torrington was driving east on Route 126 in Falls Village Aug. 20. At about 7:26 a.m., he lost control. His 2006 Chrysler Sebring crossed the center line. It skidded across the Route 63 intersection. It went off the road, hitting several trees and swamp reeds. Tanner was not injured. He walked home to report the accident. He was charged with traveling too fast for conditions, failure to drive right and a stop sign violation.
Ann Sartori, 71, of Salisbury was driving east on Route 44 in Salisbury Aug. 20. At about 1:25 p.m., her 2004 Toyota Corolla hit the rear of a 2008 Jeep Liberty driven by Heather Mullin, 29, of Falls Village. There were no injuries. Sartori was charged with following too closely.
A larceny was reported at a North Canaan residence at 5:58 p.m. Aug. 20. The complainant was Colaine Duntz of Canaan Valley Road. The incident is under investigation.
