AMENIA — Frances E. Kohl, 82, a 17-year resident of Amenia, formerly of Mamaroneck, N.Y., died on July 17, 2011, at home.Born June 1, 1929, in Valhalla, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Frances (Nask) and Lawrence DeFazio. She married Frank J. Kohl on June 3, 1951, in Mamaroneck.He survives at home. Mrs. Kohl was a homemaker and a parishioner of the Immaculate Conception Church in Amenia.In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Frank M. Kohl and his wife, Suzanne, of Snohomish, Wash., and Thomas Kohl and his wife, Carol, of Millerton; two daughters, Nancy Knowlton and her husband, Eben, of Danbury and Claudia Rinaldi and her husband, John, of Millerton; a brother, Robert DeFazio of North Carolina; a sister, Diane Giordano of Florida; and 10 grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Frank DeFazio.There will be no calling hours. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 6, at Immaculate Conception Church, Route 22, Amenia. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
