Open Gardens tour
AMENIA — The Hudson Valley Iris and Daylily Society’s (HVIDS) annual Open Gardens tour on Sunday, July 17, will feature the Clare Calabria Gardens of Gretchen Hitselberger and Kevin Cassone in Amenia. The garden will be open from 10 a.m. to noon. Admission is free and open to the public. The tour also features gardens in Newburg and Burlingham, N.Y. The HVIDS is an affiliate organization of the American Hemerocallis Society serving the lower Hudson Valley area of New York. The membership is comprised of local gardeners representing all experience levels from novice to master gardener with an interest in these wonderful perennials. Programs throughout the year include lectures, a judged iris show, daylily exhibition, garden tours and an annual plant exhibit and sale at the Poughkeepsie Galleria.
