Cookout, dance, tractor show for FFA alumni
FALLS VILLAGE — “We get such amazing support from the community,” said Mark Burdick, co-chair of the agricultural education department at Housatonic Valley Regional High School, speaking of turnout for the June 11 FFA alumni dinner and contra dance. About 180 barbecue dinners were sold, according to Bill Dinneen. “The rain dampened it a little bit but we still had fun,” he said. In addition to the cookout, there was also an antique tractor show, which featured about a dozen very old and relatively new vehicles. The contra dance was held in a tent, with bales of hay around it to help soak up some of the water that poured, off and on, throughout the evening.
