Jacob’s Pillow Costumes on Display in Williamstown

Almost as ephemeral as dance itself are the costumes the dancers wear. Lovingly and intricately constructed out of materials that move and flow with the dancers’ bodies, they are often put away into storage after a performance is over, never to be seen again.  

That changes this summer, with a new exhibit at the Williams College of Art of costumes and other artifacts from Jacob’s Pillow’s earliest years. Most of the items have been stored in antique trunks for over 50 years and will be on display for the first time.
