Housy hoops wins two in a row

FALLS VILLAGE — Rebounding from the previous week’s losses, the Housatonic Valley Regional High School boys varsity basketball team took home two wins, bringing their record to six wins and three losses.

The Mountaineers won 45-32 against Terryville in a home game on Jan. 11. The team was led by Donyell Williams, who scored 14 points and had 11 rebounds. He was assisted by Ray Mohring with nine points and nine rebounds, and Reilly Lynch and Andrew Hoffman, who each scored eight points.

In an incredibly close comeback win at Lewis Mills, the Mountaineers won 45-44. The game was won in the last eight seconds by a shot from Hoffman, who scored a total of 15 points over the course of the game.

Williams added 10 points, Mohring scored seven points, Lynch scored six points and Wilson Terrall scored five points.

Also aiding Housy’s win in the game was freshman Nick Labbadia, who sank two crucial foul shots late in the fourth quarter.
