75 years ago — December 1935

TACONIC — Harold Fuller while out hunting the latter part of the week shot a 16 pound wild cat.

SALISBURY — Mrs. Edith Welch, formerly of this place,  is now making recovery at the hospital in New Rochelle from serious injuries as the result of being struck by an auto.

TACONIC — Louis Beal is drilling an artesian well for Kent Fulton at Hob Nob Hill in Salisbury.

50 years ago — December 1960

The Rev. Robert W. Hoskins will take up his duties as the new minister of the First Church of Christ Congregational, Sharon, on Feb. 15, according to an announcement made on Tuesday by Dr. Roger Moore, Deacon of the Church and Chairman of the Pastoral Committee.

SHARON — Dr. George M. Lanning expects to open his new office in Ellsworth, at the end of Morey Road, in the house of his son Harry Lanning, early next week. Dr. and Mrs. Lanning are living across the road from the new office. His office was formerly in Lakeville.

25 years ago — December 1985

Eugene Brooks was named assistant principal of Housatonic Valley Regional High School Tuesday night. Mr. Brooks has been interim assistant principal since he replaced Barry Gajdosik, who took a job in the Yorktown Heights, N.Y., public school system last summer.

New Haven attorney John R. Williams said Wednesday he will defend Roy Duntz against the charge that he set the fire that destroyed the 236-year-old Salisbury Town Hall in the early morning hours of Aug. 5.
