NICOLE ZIDACK : Housatonic student of the week

The Lakeville Journal congratulates the honorees of the student of the week program at Housatonic Valley Regional High School.

Senior Nicole Zidack from Kent is the Housatonic Valley Regional High School student of the week. Nicole has a variety of activities and interests and plans on attending Northwestern Community College where she wants to begin studies in early childhood development.

Nicole’s favorite class is chorus. She loves to sing and enjoys being part of a group.

Next semester, she will be a teaching assistant for the horticultural sections of our Freshman Lifeskills program, using her skills to teach others.

Nicole is an important member of the yearbook design class. This is what her teacher had to say about her: “In the classroom, Nicole is a highly motivated student who has a strong work ethic and works well independently. She consistently takes initiative to go above and beyond what is expected of her. She has assumed a leadership role in several of her classes and takes extra time to guide her peers.

Nicole works after school and also on weekends.

It is this combination of activity, hard work and dedication that makes her a perfect candidate to be student of the week.

The home in Sharon that Alexandra Peters and her husband, Fred, have owned for the past 20 years feels like a mini museum. As you walk through the downstairs rooms, you’ll see dozens of examples from her needlework sampler collection. Some are simple and crude, others are sophisticated and complex. Some are framed, some lie loose on the dining table.
