Silent auction to benefit Breast Cancer Coalition
SHARON — The Bodhi Tree Gallery in the shopping plaza is holding a month-long silent auction to benefit the Connecticut Breast Cancer Coalition Foundation (CBCCF).
The silent auction includes works donated by more than 30 artists, including Izzy Fitch from Battle Hill Forge in Falls Village, who donated a hand-forged garden tower; Diane Schapira from Lakeville, who donated her pottery; and Joan Palmer from Lakeville, who donated a watercolor painting.
Gallery co-owner Ellen Eschbach said breast cancer research is a concern for both herself and co-owner Lyn Bouteneff.
“There is a history in my family of breast cancer, and Lyn is a breast cancer survivor,†Eschbach said. “It’s a great cause and we are grateful that all of these artists have donated their work to the auction.â€
All proceeds from the auction will go to the foundation.
The silent auction will conclude with a wine-and-cheese reception at the store on Saturday, Oct. 23, at 3 p.m.
“Admission to the reception is free, all you need to bring is your smile,†Eschbach said.
The Bodhi Tree Gallery is open Tuesday through Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday11 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information, call 860-824-7212.
