Jacob Wayne Henry Purdy
NORTH CANAAN â€” Jacob Wayne Henry Purdy, 21, of Lawrence Avenue, died June 28, 2010, at Sharon Hospital from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
Jacob was born Feb.14, 1989, in Sharon, the son of Steven Purdy of Sharon and Johnna (Palmer) Purdy of North Canaan. He was recently engaged to Kensey Kotowicz of Torrington.
A graduate of Housatonic Valley Regional High School, Jacob worked as a landscaper. He enjoyed motorcycles and off-road activities in his four-wheeler. He loved working on cars and anything mechanical.
Jacob was well-liked among his peers, and had a fondness for tattoos. He was an avid spelunker and a fisherman.
In addition to his mother, father and fiancÃ©e, Jacob is survived by his four sisters, Jessica Elizabeth Mercia Avallone of Kent, Rachael-Anne Dorothy Purdy and Rebekah Patricia Esther Purdy (both of North Canaan) and Amber Rosemarie Purdy of Sharon; his paternal grandmother, Patricia Purdy of Sharon; his maternal grandmother, Marcia Kimberley of New Hartford; his maternal great-grandmother, Dorothy Ivain of Torrington; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
A time of remembrance was held July 2 at the Newkirk-Palmer Funeral Home in North Canaan.
Memorial donations may be sent to the Salisbury Bank and Trust Company, PO Box 757, 100 Main St., North Canaan, CT 06018, to establish a trust for Jacob and Kenseyâ€™s unborn child.
