FFA runs strong at Webutuck

WEBUTUCK — During Monday night’s Board of Education meeting, FFA Advisor Bonnie Finkle, along with several members of the group, reviewed the group’s October field trip to the FFA national convention in Indianapolis, Ind.

Alura Penny, 14, said the trip was "so much fun, it was ridiculous."

"We met so many new people there who were all so different," Penny said. "We sat down at a table with a group from Montana. It was really cool."

The students said they learned to speak in public and that being in the FFA gave them confidence.

Finkle said that the group is preparing for local district competitions that will take place in the spring. She also said the Webutuck FFA currently has 10 members but they are looking for more.

"I think it's an important program because we are in an agriculture community," she said.
