Harney hints at future hand in commercial cannabis business

MILLERTON — With New York municipalities needing to decide if they will permit marijuana to be sold commercially and/or marijuana lounges within their borders by Dec. 31, Harney & Sons Hemp Division in Millerton offered a timely tour on Wednesday, Aug. 25.

Learning the ins and outs of composting

MILLERTON — The NorthEast-Millerton Library (NEML) closed its 2021 Summer Reading Program on Saturday, Aug. 14, with a trip to McEnroe Organic Farm so families could tour its composting facility.

Program offers students enriching summer and interesting lessons

WEBUTUCK — Demonstrating that learning doesn’t stop when school does, the North East Community Center (NECC) in Millerton recently finished a five-week collaboration with the North East (Webutuck) Central School District and the NorthEast-Millerton Library (NEML) as part of NECC’s annual Summer Enrichment Program.

Hope Rising’s hoedown raises funds for equine equipment

MILLERTON — Between the live music and line dancing with a local instructor, Hope Rising Farm in Millerton offered the community free rein of the dance floor as they joined in a Hoedown Fundraiser on Sunday, Aug. 1, to benefit the farm and its equine partners and participants. The farm said it raised about $2,800 in four hours; by Aug.
