Tiny Library Pantry, big heart

MILLERTON — The old adage, Home is Where the Heart Is, was proven once again as two lovingly donated packages of food arrived at the NorthEast-Millerton Library, sent from afar by a former resident and destined for a recently re-purposed Tiny Library Pantry in Veterans Park at 51 Main St.

In support of local essential workers and others on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic, the Millerton Community Care Network’s mask-making team has been hard at work designing, sewing and distributing handmade cloth face masks so that community members can protect themselves from the spread of COVID-19. Oakhurst Diner feeds those in need thanks to community support

MILLERTON — A routine dog walk has led to dozens of area residents receiving much-needed free meals from the Oakhurst Diner, a program that diner manager Clare Caramanica hopes others will begin to support so the meals can continue.

Earth Day 2020 plans forced to change due to health crisis

MILLERTON — For nearly six months, a group of local residents, many of them volunteers, had been hard at work to prepare a major event to celebrate Earth Day, which is officially Wednesday, April 22, with multiple family activities throughout the village. The celebration was to be on Saturday, April 25.

MILLERTON — Though their doors may be temporarily closed for business and their lives upended by the coronavirus pandemic, village merchants recently came together to raise spirits and remind the community of its strength through the creation of a community video.
