HUDSON VALLEY —  The New York State Public High School Athletic Association  (NYSPHSAA) announced its 2021-22 Scholar-Athlete School of Distinction and School of Excellence awards winners on Aug. 3. One school from the Harlem Valley was named, with another nearby school likewise honored.

PAWLING — The 15th Annual Grace Episcopal Church  Golf and Dinner Benefit was held at the Quaker  Hill Country Club in Pawling on Monday, Aug. 15,  and there couldn’t have been better weather. The club is nestled among heavily forested properties, and the views enjoyed from the golf course are extraordinary.

LIME ROCK — A new motorsports association, Gridlife, made its first appearance at Lime Rock Park in Salisbury on Friday, Aug. 19, and Saturday, Aug. 20.

Based largely in the Midwest, Gridlife had its first event in 2014, and has visited tracks countrywide including Road Atlanta and Willow Springs in California.

PINE PLAINS — From the moment one meets the members of the state championship girls softball team from Pine Plains, two things stand out — they really love the game — and they really love each other.

MILLBROOK — On Monday, Aug. 15, Grace Episcopal Church will host a golf and dinner benefit, honoring Innisfree Garden of Millbrook and John Byron for their contributions to the greater community and the church.

PINE PLAINS — The Mashomack Polo Club drew quite a crowd of spectators this past weekend, as it hosted various matches, including the 2022 USPA Master Cup on Sunday, July 31.
