Bombers baseball faces defeat against Spackenkill

PINE PLAINS — Though they ultimately lost at the hands of their opponent, the Stissing Mountain Junior/Senior High School varsity baseball team was still thrilled to get back on the playing field for the 2020-21 season on Wednesday, May 12.

“Good to get back on the field after two years of no school ball,” remarked Pine Plains Head Varsity Baseball Coach Steve Huber.

Starting at 5 p.m., the Pine Plains Bombers competed against the Spackenkill Spartans on the baseball field behind Stissing Mountain Junior/Senior High School.

Competing for the Bombers, Matt Damon pitched a solid four innings, giving up only two earned runs and two unearned runs.

His teammate, Peyton Dunlop, came in relief pitching two shut-out innings, then gave up one earned run and one unearned run.

Eventually, the Spartans took home the win with 6-1 over the Bombers.
