Richard Hooley retires as BOCES superintendent

SALT POINT — When the Dutchess County Board of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES) Board of Trustees accepted a resignation letter from District Superintendent Richard Hooley on Dec. 9, 2020, his retirement date of Aug. 31, 2001  seemed a long way off. Yet it finally arrived this past week, and as of Sept.

It’s official!

After more than 125 years, the Thorne Memorial Building no longer belongs to the Village of Millbrook. Following many years of pondering what should become of the historic building, numerous public hearings and countless informational sessions, the one-time public high school is now part of the Millbrook Community Partnership 501(C)3.

Low enrollment and COVID-19 put football programs in spotlight

MILLBROOK — The health crisis has affected many aspects of life, in small towns and large cities. Local residents, many of them parents, are naturally worried about how the coronavirus has impacted local communities here in the Harlem Valley, especially in our schools.

Millbrook Garden Club makes donation to the Historical Society

MILLBROOK — The Millbrook Garden Club (MGC) made its first donation to the Millbrook Historical Society on Monday, Aug. 2, at the Village Hall site of the Historical Society.
