Margaret (Halpin) Davidson
NORTH CANAAN — Margaret (Halpin) Davidson, 94, formerly of North Canaan, passed away Aug. 30, 2011, at Noble Horizons. She was the widow of Robert M. Davidson and for many years served as assessor for North Canaan.She was born in Lenox, Mass., on April 25, 1917, and was the daughter of the late Margaret and Michael Halpin.“Peg,” as she was most commonly known, is survived by her daughter, Carol Bartlett and her husband, Robert; her two sons, Robert M. Davidson Jr. and his wife, Lynn of Cape Cod, Mass., and Naples, Fla., and Dean Davidson and his partner, Linda Bushnell of Salisbury; three grandchildren, Jason, Michael and Ryan Bartlett; and four great-grandchildren, Ella, Ava, Brooke and Olivia Bartlett. In addition to her husband Peg was predeceased by her sister, Ruth (Halpin) Sanders Schultz of Dalton, Mass., and Naples; her four brothers, William Halpin of Charleston, S.C., Malcolm Halpin of Michigan, George Halpin and Joseph Halpin, both of Lenox.Committal services were held Sept. 3 in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in North Canaan, followed by a memorial Mass of Christian burial in St. Luke’s Chapel at Noble Horizons, with the Rev. Joseph Kurnath officiating. The Newkirk-Palmer Funeral Home in North Canaan has charge of arrangements.
