Cut maternity and you ‘remove incentives for new families to set roots’

My name is Amy Scheim. I am a resident of Millerton, and my daughter was born at Sharon Hospital in July of 2021. On Sept. 29 I tuned in to Nuvance Health’s Zoom meeting to unveil their Sharon Hospital transformation plan.

Learning to live with change and with chaos

As a long-term resident of the area, I recall a time when our cozy village was self-sufficient. Oddly enough, Millerton used to be a shopping hub thanks to Delson’s department store, and how about those three grocery stores located within the village?

As I’ve been speaking to folks in Amenia, I am struck by how few people are aware of the efforts by our neighbors at the luxury housing development Silo Ridge to lower their taxes.

Bad news when idling cars are the least of our worries

It is so depressing when I see people using an idling car for their personal air conditioner on days that are warm and even on days when opening the windows of the car is as refreshing.
