Change of leadership at COG

GOSHEN — Rick Lynn has retired after 33 years as executive director of the former Litchfield Hills Council of Elected Officials and then the Northwest Hills Council of Governments (NHCOG, which includes the six Northwest Corner towns).

‘The Heights’ comes to the Drive-In

AMENIA — The stars were out at the Four Brothers Drive-In Theatre on Route 22 last Saturday night, June 19, as it hosted a private event for actor/singer/writer/director/producer Lin-Manuel Miranda (creator of “Hamilton”) and his friends.

The attack of the killer gypsy moth

Most years, we are inundated in summer with photos of bears. This year, my email inbox is full of photos of destructive, furry gypsy moth caterpillars. Several photos are dramatic before-and-afters, where a tree (usually an oak) is fully leafed one day, and completely stripped the next day.
