SHARON — The 38th annual Sharon Classic Road Race drew hundreds of competitors and spectators on the morning of Saturday, May 6. Racers from as young as age two met at Veterans Field in Sharon for the springtime tradition.

TORRINGTON — Housatonic Valley Regional High School’s boys and girls tennis teams playeda meet against Gilbert High School at Pinewoods Racket Club in Torrington on April 27. HVRHS won in straight sets in each match of the day.

FALLS VILLAGE — The Housatonic Valley Regional High School Mountaineers softball team hosted the Wamogo/Litchfield Warriors’ co-op team on April 26. After a hard-fought battle between the two teams, HVRHS prevailed in a 9-4 victory.
FALLS VILLAGE — Housatonic Valley Regional High School’s girls varsity lacrosse team narrowly lost when they hosted the Wolcott High School Eagles on April 18. In a game that came down to the wire, the Eagles held on to win 13-11 over the Mountaineers.
NORTH CANAAN — The Northwest Connecticut Steve Blass Little League’s season began with a match-up between the two home teams on April 22.

NORTH CANAAN — Members of the NorthwestConnecticut chapter of Trout Unlimited gathered along the Blackberry River at Beckley Furnace in East Canaan Saturday, April 15 for conversation, food and a bit of fishing.
NORTH CANAAN — The Northwest Connecticut Steve Blass Little League (NCSBLL) is set to field teams across six age groups in the coming season. In total, 154 ballplayers have been registered from the towns of North Canaan, Cornwall, Falls Village, Kent, Norfolk, Salisbury, and Sharon.
LAKEVILLE — The Hotchkiss School hosted four visiting golf teams for a day on the links on Saturday, April 15. This year’s Hotchkiss Quad Match featured Salisbury School, Trinity Pawling School, Canterbury School, and Brunswick School.
