FALLS VILLAGE— The Region One Board of Education got a first look at the proposed 2023-24 budget at the regular board meeting Monday, Feb. 6.
The proposed spending plan has a bottom line of $17,126,203, up $460,234 (2.76%) from a budgeted $16,665,969 in the current fiscal year, which ends June 30.

FALLS VILLAGE — On Saturday, Feb. 18 at 1 p.m. the David M. Hunt Library in Falls Village will host “The Fearsome Foursome” with Master Wildlife Conservationist Ginny Apple (in-person only).
Participants will learn about the habits and habitats of raccoons, opossums, skunks, and porcupines.
FALLS VILLAGE — After a brief, online-only public hearing Thursday, Jan. 26, the Planning and Zoning Commission voted unanimously to accept an amendment to the town’s zoning regulations that allows for two types of cannabis manufacturing activities in the town’s Light Industrial zone.

FALLS VILLAGE — Well over 50 people packed into the Emergency Services Center Friday night, Jan. 27, for a public hearing on the proposal to spend town funds to ensure all of Falls Village has access to fiber optic service.

FALLS VILLAGE — Lance and Ann Beizer received the Donald T. Warner Award from the Housatonic Youth Service Bureau (HYSB) in December in recognition of their efforts and contribution to the communities of the Northwest Corner over the past 14 years.

FALLS VILLAGE — Seven students and one teacher made their way from the Lee H. Kellogg School to the Senior Center Thursday morning, Jan. 19, to present gift baskets to the senior citizens.
FALLS VILLAGE — Funded by grants given by Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation and the Northwest Connecticut Community Foundation, the Falls Village Community Development Corporation invited the Connecticut Center for Nonviolence (CTCN) to speak to the middle school students of Lee H. Kellogg School in Falls Village on Wednesday, Jan. 18.
