Falls Village town meeting on Sept. 28
FALLS VILLAGE — The Board of Selectmen approved using federal funds for the Falls Village Volunteer Fire Department at the board’s monthly meeting Monday, Sept. 12.
American Rescue Plan Act funds totalling $13,700 will go to the fire department for communications equipment that will enable emergency personnel to track where fire trucks and other vehicles are in the event of multiple calls.
The selectmen recommended using $37,000 from the general fund and $17,000 from reserve funds for work on the town’s Plan of Conservation and Development (POCD).
And the selectmen recommended spending $20,700 for heating work at the Lee H. Kellogg School.
There will be a town meeting Sept. 28 on the the POCD and school items.
There will be a joint committee of the selectmen and Planning and Zoning Commission to work out the details on the sale of the old firehouse at 35 Railroad St.
